Paul Simon Live From Philadelphia DVD

(Kayos) Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to announce the DVD release of arguably America's greatest living songwriter, Paul Simon, Live From Philadelphia on November 25.

Recorded in Philadelphia's longtime cherished landmark venue, The Tower Theater, in 1980, this 11-song, 53-minute set features Simon on vocals and guitar back by a superb back-up band: drummer Steve Gadd, bassist Tony Levin, pianist Richard Tee and guitarist Eric Gale.

The setlist includes both solo material and Simon & Garfunkel classics. Simon was in a transitional phase in 1980, continually searching for just the right sounds. Touring in support of the soundtrack to One-Trick Pony, he was still three years removed from Hearts & Bones and, more importantly, six years removed from Graceland.

Putting his sensitive singer/songwriter persona alongside his newly playful solo sideand choosing musicians from the esteemed band Stuff as his back-upshowed a willingness on his part for exploration. This ever-changing quest would later manifest itself with forays into African music (Graceland), Brazilian music (Rhythm Of The Saints) and Latin music (Capeman). But, fascinatingly, it all started right here.
