We all should know this but last week they hyped the fact that lipsyncing poptart Britney Spears would open this year's VMAs "setting the tone for a night of can't miss moments." Can't miss moments? Bullsh*t! What viewers got instead was "Thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I'm here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday, the 25th anniversary of the VMAs. This is the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and it starts right now." In a way this fits as this year's VMA picks are about as uninspiring as Brit's comments.
