Brian Head Welch (ex-Korn) Week: Day 2

09/09/2008
.
(antiMusic) Brian Head Welch shocked the rock world when he suddenly quit Korn following a religious awakening. While his new found faith is now the driving force in his life, Head's passion for music lives on with his solo debut "Save Me From Myself." To celebrate the release of this album we asked Head to pick some of his favorite tracks and tell us about them. Here he is with today's song:

"Loyalty": I wrote "Loyalty" right after I left Korn. I was thinking about my life and how I started to sell out to things that weren't me. For instance, the last couple of years I was in Korn, I felt like I was writing songs to please the industry rather than myself. The second verse is about abortion because I was thinking back to the time I tried to have my ex-wife get an abortion when she was nineteen. Somehow, the two subjects blended well together and it worked out killer.
