Chief Mountain Goat John Darnielle and King have shared a longtime mutual respect. The two recently collaborated on a six-song vinyl EP, titled Black Pear Tree, which King and Darnielle are excited to make available for purchase exclusively at every show on the "Last Happy Night of Your Life" tour. In addition, the first 200 copies of Black Pear Tree come specially made on color vinyl.

The unique tour is King's latest in support of her fourth album, Dreaming of Revenge, released earlier this year on Velour Recordings. Produced by Grammy-winning musician and producer Malcolm Burn (Peter Gabriel), Revenge finds the virtuosic King expanding her freewheeling style to an ever-transgressive wallop of vocal intricacy and melodic dexterity. Entertainment Weekly praised the album for being her "most sophisticated release yet," and declared that "split between swirling instrumentals and contemplative vocal tracks, Dreaming should draw in gearheads with its technical prowess and the rest of us with its quiet loveliness."
