(Intern) Break out those dancin' Chucks and get ready for the much-awaited debut of SONNY. His introductory appearance comes to the world in the form of an exclusive digital EP titled Gypsyhook, available globally on April 7, 2009 through INgrooves distribution. The EP will be followed by a full-length disc, Bells, in-stores this summer. [no mention of where you know him from]

Sonny wrote, programmed and mixed virtually the entire Gypsyhook EP. The album will be comprised of brand new and original tracks by Sonny including "Gypsyhook," "Mora" and "Copaface2," as well as a Japanese version of "Mora." It will feature remixes by The Toxic Avenger, DMNDAYS, LAZRtag and Dan Sena with guest programming on "Mora" by Leopold Ross. In addition, the album will include a bonus video for the track "Mora." Sonny's full-length, in stores this spring, will feature duets with Aja of Nico Vega and rapper Sirah. [still no mention of where you know him from]

Sonny's music is a great departure from his past work these songs are electronic, forward-thinking, tribal, dancy and eclectic. [what past work are they talking about?] Above all, this music is full of heart and represents a total artistic world created entirely by Sonny. He is opening another chapter in his life. Something that builds on his past, something that has the energy and urgency of thrash, the texture and consideration of the experimental, the eloquence of the electronic and the shock of the new. [again, what past?]

Sonny is much more than a unique voice. With each song that he records, he writes, produces, programs, mixes, remixes, plays all instruments and sings. On stage, his live show features a full tribe of musicians including guitars, keys, programming and drums lots and lots of drums. In addition, Sonny spends plenty of time DJing throughout LA under the name Skrillex, where he's been able to hone his remixing skills. Most notably, he recently created a remix of Perry Farrell's "Twilight." [so he's a DJ? What the press release failed to mention until a few paragraphs after this (which we aren't publishing) is that he was the frontman for From First to Last]
