My Dying Bride Sets Release
For Lies I Sire, the band's tenth studio album, is set for release March 23rd 2009 and consists of nine songs of crushing doom, recorded and mixed at Futureworks in Manchester, with long-time producer Mags, throughout the second half of 2008. It is the band's first album since re-signing to long-time home Peaceville Records, and looks set to become another quality addition to the MDB catalogue, such is the scope of this latest journey into the depths of despair.
This album is the follow-up to 2006's hit, A Line Of Deathless Kings, and is the first studio album with new members Dan Mullins on drums, Lena Abe on bass, and violin/keyboard player Katie Stone. 2008 has seen a successful year for the band, having released their live CD/DVD An Ode to Woe, plus their high profile 'Unholy Trinity' shows re-uniting the 'Peaceville Three' (Paradise Lost, Anathema & My Dying Bride).
Featuring some seriously heavy-as-hell sombre doom, For Lies I Sire wades effortlessly and poetically through tales of darkness and gloom, this time textured with the much-anticipated return of the often-missed violin, last featured well over ten years ago.
Peaceville have set up a special mini-site for the release at www.peaceville.com/mydyingbride . The site features info, downloads, an artwork gallery and more. It also offers a free full track mp3 of 'Fall With Me' to anyone who signs up to the mailing list. By signing up for the mailing list you also enter a competition to win a violin signed by the band.
The site also includes pre-order links for the special UK 'Guitar Edition' of the album which comes in a digipack in a slip case with an extended 24 page booklet, bonus 12 page guitar booklet and customized plectrum.
There is also a limited edition t-shirt and CD bundle available from the site.
