The Dandy Warhols ARE Sound comes out on July 14, on the band's own Beat The World Records. The album was mixed by Russell Elavedo, a GRAMMY-award winning soul mixing engineer whose credits include D'Angelo's Brown Sugar, The Roots' The Roots Come Alive, Common's Like Water for Chocolate, and Alicia Keys' Songs in A Minor, among others.
And starting in September, the band will commence their late Summer 2009 tour. They'll stop first in Indianapolis before heading off to Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Austin, and Albuquerque. The last stop of their tour will be at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, where the band will be closing out the final day of Monolith alongside Phoenix, among many others. All shows are all ages, and opening on each date will be neo-psychedelic Spaghetti-Western band Spindrift, who released their record The West on Beat The World in November 2008. - more on this story
