John Flansburgh and John Linnell have put their heads together once again to create engaging and educational tunes, this time for older kids! Though this release is geared towards post-toddlers, like most TMBG family releases, adults won't be surprised when they catch themselves popping these songs into their own iPod. Packed with TMBG's signature melodies and highly energized arrangements, Here Comes Science examines a wide array of scientific ideas. Titles include "Photosynthesis," "Meet the Elements" and the fully rocking "I Am a Paleontologist".
THE STORY OF TMBG's MUSIC FOR KIDS Brooklyn's international rock legends entered the world of kids' stuff in 2002 with their self-styled kids album No! The project was immediately met with audience and critical raves, quickly becoming an unexpected commercial success. They followed up that effort with a collaboration with fine artist Marcel Dzama on the CD & picture book Bed, Bed, Bed (Simon and Schuster), and then joined forces with Walt Disney Records for the album and DVD Here Come the ABCs.
TMBG is already a familiar sound in many kids' daily routines. Most recently they reached out to Little League baseball teams offering rock & roll sponsorship to teams across America! The band has created many original themes for television including Higglytown Heroes, The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Oblongs, PBS Kids Share-A-Story, along with their GRAMMY-winning theme "Boss of Me" for Malcolm In the Middle. They have also appeared on Blue's Clues and Home Movies.
AND HERE COMES THE TMBG VIDEO PODCAST!
Every song on Here Comes Science comes with a video! TMBG will be adding new videos to their popular "They Might Be Giants Family Video Podcast" in August 2009, which can be found on iTunes. A new song with video will be featured every week - the perfect destination for families looking to share a musical moment together right before bedtime.
