Punk Sitcom: The CBC is reporting that Newfoundland-based comedian and Canadian TV personality Mary Walsh is creating a pilot for a new half-hour comedy titled Rise Up. The show will feature Walsh as aging punk rocker Siouxie Power, who moves her family from small-town Newfoundland to an upscale Toronto neighborhood after winning the lottery.more

Modest Mouse have announced that they will release an eight-song EP later this summer. The EP, titled 'No One's First, And You're Next', is due out in the US on August 4. more

Dear Life (Uprising Records) had their trailer stolen yesterday in Hacienda Heights, CA. Most of the group's equipment was inside. The trailer was later recovered, however, not before its contents were removed.more

City Of Fire is the new project featuring Fear Factory members Burton C. Bell (vocals) and Byron Stroud (bass), as well as Terry "Sho" Murray (guitar), Ian White (guitar) and Bob Wagner (drums). The band are set to release their debut album on August 15th. more

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil's latest Vegas foray, Feelgood's Rock Bar and Grill, will finally have its grand opening celebration on August 2. Feelgood's was originally scheduled to open on April 1. However, months of issues with city officials pushed the opening further and further back, causing many to wonder whether the bar-restaurant would ever see the light of day. more

MTV Games and Harmonix have unveiled the next 15 songs for the highly-anticipated The Beatles: Rock Band, due out September 9. The game will include 45 songs in total, along with multiple venues for the Fab Four to perform at.more

Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles is on vocal rest after canceling two shows over the weekend. In a video message to fans posted on the duo's Web site, Nettles said she has been dealing with voice problems since January. more
