(PR) Bleakmouse Records is pleased to announce that Winchester based Polly and the Billets Doux will release their stunning debut album "Fiction, Half-Truths and Downright Lies" on Monday 10th August.

The young four-piece effortlessly flit between jazz, rock and folk, flirt with Motown and soul and remain firmly bluesy whilst exploring guitarslinger/indie-songwriter territory. Taking their influences from jazz greats like Billie Holiday and adding a quintessentially English twist, theirs is a sound that will run and run.

For the second year in a row, 'Polly and the Billets Doux' have been invited to perform at the Glastonbury Festival. The band will perform on the Bandstand stage on Sunday June 28th at 5pm. The band will also perform a series of UK dates including Ronnie Scott's (June 2) the Brunswick, Brighton (June 5).

After signing to the independent label, Bleakmouse Records during the summer of 2007, Polly and the Billets Doux released the critically acclaimed "Head of Steam" EP which reached #27 in the official independent charts. Their forthcoming debut album, "Fiction, Half-Truths and Downright Lies", is their first nationwide release. The band is comprised of Polly Perry (vocals, double bass), Andrew Steen (electric/acoustic & slide guitar, harmonica, vocals), Daniel Everett (electric/double bass, acoustic guitar, vocals) and Ben Perry (drums).
