.
(PR) Cancer survivors, supporters, and musicians including The Bacon Brothers, Cy Curnin of the Fixx, and The White Buffalo will join together for the first concert ever performed on top of Pikes Peak, America's most visited mountain.

Put together by the Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS), an international foundation that uses music to make a difference in global cancer care, the event is scheduled for Saturday June 27th, 2009. The proceeds will benefit global cancer care and a nationwide bone marrow registration campaign to locate matches for patients with Leukemia and other blood disorders.

The Bacon Brothers, lead by singer/guitarist and prolific screen actor Kevin Bacon, (Footloose, JFK, The River Wild and Apollo 13) and veteran musician Michael Bacon will perform at 14,110 for 100 hikers who climbed to the summit to raise money and show support along with thousands of people who are invited to make the pilgrimage for this special performance. The concert atop Pikes Peak will be followed by an encore performance by the Bacon Brothers, The White Buffalo and Cy Curnin at Denver's Hard Rock Cafe that evening.

"Everyone has been touched by cancer in one way or another and we are no exceptions," said Kevin Bacon. "This is a powerful and unique way to fight against cancer and we are excited to do our part."

"This is the first time the summit of Pikes Peak has been used for a musical celebration like this and on this historic occasion, we are thrilled it is for a good cause," said Jo Behrens, Senior Executive of Pikes Peak. "This is a beautiful way to remember those who have passed from cancer, support those who are struggling and raise awareness in Colorado and around the world."

On the very same day as Pikes Peak Rocks, LHS co-founder Mike Peters of The Alarm will be joined by The Automatics and a band of survivors and supporters in a music fueled pilgrimage atop Mt. Rhondda in Whales, U.K. dubbed, Rhonnda Rocks.

"We have traveled to remote parts of the world and brought together people from all continents to change the face of cancer care in countries that are otherwise forgotten. This time, we want to do something on two continents at once," said LHS Executive Director, Shannon Foley.

Rhondda Rock and Pikes Peak Rocks are the latest effort in a series of LHS' "Rocks" events that combine music, traveling and adventure to raise money and provide resources for those affected by cancer. Past events include a concert on Mt. Everest, in Macchu Picchu, Peru, and on the roof of the Empire State Building.

Those wishing to support this initiative can register to hike, purchase tickets for the Hard Rock Cafe celebration, or make a donation at www.lovehopestrength.org.
