(PR) Placebo has achieved their highest US chart debut ever with their sixth studio album, Battle For The Sun, released June 9 on Vagrant Records. Battle For The Sun entered the Billboard Top 200 Chart at #51, and for the first time ever, Placebo landed on the Top Independent Albums chart at #8. Additionally, this is the highest first week sales total of any Placebo release. Battle For The Sun is a worldwide triumph with a Top 10 debut in the UK, Australia, and Sweden album charts and Top 10 in most every European territory, including #1 in France, Germany, and Switzerland.
Placebo's fall US tour will be announced in the coming weeks, and meanwhile their first single, "For What It's Worth" is climbing the US alternative rock charts and is already a Top 10 song at 91X in San Diego (also Top 5 phones), WEQX in Albany, KTNI in Denver and many more. The single is in the Top 20 at KROQ, The End in Seattle and Sirius Radio's Alternative Nation among others.
