(PR) Solid Ground, the debut album from Sara Wasserman, seven year's in the making, is released today by That Other Label, a division of San Diego-based Pacific Coast Jazz.

Wasserman, the daughter of legendary bassist Rob Wasserman graced the stage at San Rosa, CA's Harmony Festival last week where she was joined by her father for a set that was tremendously received by the crowd. The elder Wasserman is a guest musician on Solid Ground as are Aaron Neville who duets on "Fly Away," jazz bassist Christian McBride, the legendary Lou Reed, turntablist extraordinaire DJ Logic, Jane's Addiction's Stephen Perkins as well as Living Colour's Vernon Reid.

While the eleven tracks on the album, produced by Sara and Randy Emata, reflect a free-spirited eclecticism, quite a few radio stations have started playing Sara's music following her attendance at the Non-COMM radio conference in Philadelphia last month. These include stations in such diverse markets as Montgomery, AL, Baltimore, MD, Madison, WI, Philadelphia and many, many more. *

In support of the album's release, Sara will be playing two upcoming club dates joined by New Orleans piano great Henry Butler. She's at Yoshi's in San Francisco on Tuesday, July 28th and will fly immediately thereafter, to New York where she'll play two shows at Joe's Pub on Friday, July 31. Sara will be on tour with RatDog throughout the US at select dates in July, August and September that will be announced within the new few weeks.
