ZZ Top Still Riding The Charts

(Kayos) This week, Eagle Rock Entertainment is celebrating the 52-week ride on the Soundscan Music DVD Charts of ZZ Top's Live From Texas.

Originally released on June 24, 2008, Live From Texas is the first ever-live concert on DVD and Blu-ray from ZZ Top. A compendium of the entire ZZ career, Live From Texas features 17 of the bands most beloved tracks, including "Tush" "Legs" and "Sharp Dressed Man." This DVD not only features 2 hours of the Southern-fried sizzle ZZ Top is world-famous for, but bonus footage of the band discussing their evolution over a poker game.

Singer/guitarist/frontman Billy F Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill, and drummer Frank Beard are one of the most instantly recognizable bands in rock history. From their 1969 Houston inception to their 2004 induction in the Rock 'n'Roll Hall of Fame, ZZ Top have crafted a brand of no frills blues 'n' boogie that has stayed fresh through four decades. Known for self-designed custom guitars, love of rural and urban American blues music and early rock 'n' roll, they have evolved beyond just having great tunes the persona of ZZ Top is that of pop culture iconography. They have built a reputation as one of the greatest American live rock bands of all time, and have garnered success from their first million seller Tres Hombres (1973) to their 10x platinum Eliminator in 1983. The chart success of Live From Texas is just the latest accolade for this legendary band.

Other recent Eagle Music DVD chart-toppers include Diana Krall's Live in Rio (May 26, 2009), Jeff Beck's Performing This WeekLive at Ronnie Scotts (March 31, 2009), Deep Purple's History, Hits & Highlights (June 2, 2009), Moody Blues Live at the Isle of Wight (May 26, 2009), and Black Label Society's Skullage DVD/CD set (April 21, 2009)

Eagle Rock will continue this tradition of spectacular live concert DVDs. Upcoming releases includes artists such as Quincy Jones, The Black Crowes, Jethro Tull, Jason Aldean, and Willie Nelson.
