Nylon Records launched recently with Paris' Plastiscines as their first signing. The Plastiscines have been hailed as France's most exciting rock band with an addictive garage sound that gave them a hit, 2007's "Loser", while still in high school. The jeune filles just released their EP Barcelona via iTunes on April 21st and will be releasing their second full length About Love in June to coincide with the tour. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Butch Walker (Katy Perry, Pink, Avril Lavigne) and mix-master Claudius Mittendorfer (Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Muse).
Patrick Wolf, the UK-based multi-instrumentalist known for his masterfully orchestrated and emotive songs will release his fourth studio album The Bachelor on August 11th, following its digital release June 2nd via iTunes on NYLON Records. The Bachelor narrates a story of pessimism regarding love to be concluded with a forthcoming sequel album. Always expanding on his repertoire of different musical genres, Patrick's command of baroque pop is taken to a new level with the addition of large choral and string sections, and collaborators such as Alec Empire, Tilda Swinton, Eliza Carthy, and Matthew Herbert.
