Elbow will arrive in Los Angeles in July kicking things off with a headline show at The Wiltern on July 22nd. See below for a complete list of U.S. tour dates.
Elbow's The Seldom Seen Kid was released on Fiction/Geffen Records here in the states last April to critical praise as well as placement on a slew of year end 'best of' lists!
The album is currently 2x platinum in the U.K. and the band had been lauded with awards including the 2008 Mercury Music Prize (where they were nominated alongside such luminaries as Radiohead, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss) the "Best British Band" award at the Brit Awards this year as well as the "Outstanding Contribution To British Music Award" at this years' NME Awards.
Lead singer Guy Garvey, drummer Richard Jupp, keyboardist Craig Potter, guitarist Mark Potter and bassist Pete Turner all met in the early '90s at college in Bury. Moving together to Manchester Elbow was born and after releasing a string of EPs (Noisebox, Newborn and Any Day Now) the band signed with V2 Records and released their debut album Asleep In The Back in 2001. Cast Of Thousands followed in 2004 and Leaders Of The Free World in 2005.
