(antiMusic) Welcome to Singled Out! where we ask artists to tell us the inside story of their latest single. Today John Galgano from Izz tells us about "Regret" from their brand new album "The Darkened Room," which hits stores next week. We now turn it over to John for the story:

"One of my biggest fears in life is having a regret that I can never escape or forget. I've always pictured a regret as a sort of ghost that never quite leaves you alone. A regret is always there, haunting you, almost mocking you. All of the actions you never took - all of the steps you didn't take - they are still alive somewhere, and they never leave you. So I had this idea to write a song about someone falling into this world of regret and not being able to leave. And in a way, I think we all sometimes live in this world of regret. I think a lot of great music has probably been written from this world as well. It's stifling because we are trapped in a world of dead actions - things never done, words never spoken - yet we allow ourselves to drown in this dead sea. It's scary stuff and I think the band really took this song and gave it just the right musical treatment. The music is at once both mysterious and real, ethereal and heavy. I think we all hope that at the end of the story of our lives, we don't look back and say "I wish I could've..."
