It was a pretty slow news day, but here are some of the stories that caught our attention: There will be a little less rock in Grande Prairie, Alberta Thursday night (November 12th): Stone Temple Pilots at the Crystal Centre has been cancelled. The reason for the cancellation has been summed up as a scheduling conflict, with little available in the way of specifics. more

Speaking of Bon Jovi and in the interest of fairness, we let Bart Steele tell his side yesterday in his appeal of the lawsuit against the band, Time Warner, Major Legue Baseball etc. Hollywood Report did a story on the appeal on Tuesday and reports that in the original court case, "Steele's own musicologist testified that the songs weren't very similar. The district judge ruled that no reasonable jury could conclude there was substantial similarity between the songs and dismissed the claim." more

Slash will release the two-track 'Sahara' CD single in Japan on November 11th via Universal Music - the single also features a cover of the Guns N' Roses classic 'Paradise City' featuring Cypress Hill and Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson from the Black Eyed Peas. Check out both tracks here

Roger Daltrey has cancelled his Baltimore show on November 10th at The Lyric Theater due to a throat issue. Roger has been advised against performing and the singer has reluctantly complied. more

Ethereal Collapse has issued the following update regarding the departure of guitarist Dave Kline "It is with a very heavy heart that I announce Dave Kline's departure from Ethereal Collapse. Dave has been with the band since the very beginning, and it goes without saying that we are deeply saddened by his departure. Simply put, things won't be the same without him, and it will be quite an adjustment for all of us." more

Seems fitting to end with news on Veteran's Day: Kottak has just Posted their new song, "Daddy You Are My Star", on their MySpace page here Athena wrote the lyrics and Jimmy Ratchitt wrote the music and the song will be released on Kottak's upcoming CD, Scream With Me, in early 2010. Athena dedicated this song to her father, David, who was a Korean War Veteran who served the United States of America proudly for 20+ years. -
