Dio Hospitalized- Stone Temple Pilots Postpone Tour- Rise Against Australia- Protest The Rumors- Death To All But Metal- Fred Durst Still A Hater and more was a top story for this week. Here it is again: Dio's European tour has been cancelled after the band's namesake Ronnie James Dio was taken ill. "Ronnie has been hospitalized and we are waiting for further news," explains Ronnie's wife/manager, Wendy Dio. No further information is available at this time

Stone Temple Pilots are postponing the December and January dates until next year. In a notice on their website they say they are doing it "so the band can finish their highly anticipated record which will be coming out in the early spring of next year."

Rise Against had this update for fans on Wednesday: Good news Sydney and Melbourne, we have added headlining shows in both of your cities betwixt our appearances on the now sold out Big Day Out Festival in January. The shows are going down at The Enmore in Sydney and the Hi Fi in Melbourne, tickets go on sale Nov 30th, we can't wait for the chance to play another show for our incredible Australian fans down under. more

Protest The Hero are protesting some rumors in a blog post they call "Lies and bullsh*t and stuff." Here is what they had to say: Some fuckin kid has taken it upon himself to inform quite a few people that our next tour and couple dates are cancelled due to an upcoming court date and assault charges. We would just like to acknowledge that it's all bullshit, this kid is bat-shit crazy. So consider the rumor mill shut down. We'll be in Hamilton at McMaster university Friday see you there." dates

Steel Panther has a single out titled, "Death To All But Metal," and it is being featured as the iTunes Single of the Week. It can be downloaded for free this week only. Jack White spoke with MTV about his recording plans, "It's gonna take as long as it takes ... if it takes three months to do a Dead Weather record, we'll take that long," White said. "The White Stripes record is going to be these two guys [Dead Weather bassist Jack Lawrence and guitarist/ keyboardist Dean Fertita] dressed as me and Meg, so we'll see if something interesting comes out of that." more

Mightier Than Sword has announced the next Blink 182 vinyl reissue due out in limited numbers through the label. The label will be producing 2000 copies of the band's 1997 album, Dude Ranch. more

Sylosis entered the studio this past Friday to record the follow up to 2008's successful debut "Conclusion Of An Age." Again the band is working with Scott Atkins who already worked on the predecessor. more

Ole balding one who wears a mean red cap [a.k.a. Fred Durst] still doesn't care that his merry band of nu metal "nookie" called Limp Bizkit is the most hated musical act on the planet (for over ten years and counting!), so much so that he's taken to the band's newly designed website with his biggest statement yet more

Bob Mould has booked some Italian shows next month and two New York City shows in early 2010 more

Westbound Train has announced that they will be going on hiatus following two east coast shows in December. more

Alkaline Trio have announced that their upcoming seventh album will be released as a joint venture between Epitaph Records and their own newly formed label Heart & Skull. [So it has half of a chance a success?] more
