Pitbull Goes Top 10

09/25/2009
.
(RCA) Pitbull's major label debut, Rebelution (Polo Grounds Music/J/RCA Music Group) debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and No. 10 on the digital album chart, making it Pitbull's highest U.S. debut to date.

Singles from the album have dominated the charts, with "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 3 at Rhythmic and achieving sales of more than 1.6 million digital singles. "Hotel Room Service" peaked at No.3 at Rhythmic, currently sits at No. 7 and is nearing the Top 10 at Top 40 radio. Pitbull's new single "Shut It Down" featuring Akon impacts Rhythm radio next week.

Rebelution was released through Pitbull's Mr. 305 imprint via Polo Grounds Music/J/RCA Music Group. It boasts production from beatmakers Play N Skillz, Doctor Luke, Clinton Sparks and Grammy Award winning Jim Jonsin, plus guest appearances by Akon, B.O.B, Lil Jon and Slim of 112. The album showcases Pitbull's undeniable lyrical skills and stakes his claim as one of the game's best emcees.

National television audiences were first introduced to the Pitbull "rebelution" last month, when he performed "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" and "Hotel Room Service" on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and The Wendy Williams Show. More recently, the artist made unforgettable appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and the MTV Video Music Awards.

Pitbull kicked-off his worldwide Rebelution Tour at Harrah's Casino in Valley Center, CA September 19 with a final show October 25 at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. After, he will embark internationally through Canada and Europe until the end of November.
