Tour Sidelined By Bizarre Skating Accident

09/25/2009
.
(PR) Smile Empty Soul have been forced to cancel their next four tour dates after vocalist Sean Danielson broke his leg and tore his ACL in a skateboarding accident prior to Sunday night's show in Kansas City.

Danielson has issued the following statement: "I'm really sorry to disappoint all the fans who were anxious to see us on the tour dates we've had to cancel, but I'm in the hospital and out of commission," he commented. "I was skateboarding before a show in Kansas City, when a car pulled out in front of me and I had to jump off to avoid being hit. As soon as I hit the ground, I heard my leg crack and there was intense pain shooting through my body. This all happened less than an hour before I was slated to be on stage opening for Buckcherry.

"After being rushed to the hospital, they did some X-rays and discovered I had broken my leg in four different spots and tore my ACL during the fall, which required immediate surgery on my leg. The doctors told me that I can't tour for a little while to make sure everything heals properly or run the risk of permanently injuring my leg. It really sucks to have to cancel the rest of the dates on this tour as the shows have been packed every night and we've been having a blast. We'll be back out on the road later this year, so please stay tuned for a major tour announcement from us. In the meantime please drop us a line on MySpace or Facebook and let us know what you think of the new album. You can also check out some pics of my leg there as well....FUBAR"

SMILE EMPTY SOUL just released their new album "Consciousness" through FOF Label Group.
