Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros Building Momentum On the Charts As They Hit The Road

Up From Below, the debut album from Los Angeles psych-folk collective Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros has now made it into Billboard's Top 200 for its second consecutive week. Last week marked the album's debut on the chart which was released in July, 2009.

The consecutive rankings are further proof that the album has been gathering a fierce and constantly expanding fan base. In addition, the band's first single "Home" makes its first appearance in the AAA top 20 chart.

The much-talked-about band made a triumphant first appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio, CA last weekend. Among the hoards of fans that came out for their show- which amassed the largest crowds for a daytime set that the festival saw all weekend- was hip-hop power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce. The band graced the cover of a recent New York Times arts section, also celebrating their performance.

Additional dates have been added to the band's current US tour, which began last week in Solana Beach, CA. The tour sees the band bringing their storied live show to several major music festivals including Sasquatch! in Washington in May, Bonnaroo in Tennessee in June, and Lollapalooza in August, while touring throughout the country this summer.
