. Since that time, the indie heroes have fielded questions as to the when's and where's of this titillating team-up. Singer Andrew VanWyngarden has now put those rumors to rest. Speaking to Spinner at Lollapalooza, VanWyngarden said, "We did play a show with him (McCartney) last summer at Fenway Park, which was really cool, but nothing has really come of the collaboration part of it. We still would really like to do that. We like Paul McCartney's songwriting abilities, his musical sensibilities. His bass playing is unreal.
