Osaka Popstar Ask Where's the Cap'n With New Video and Free MP3
. A tribute to the breakfast cereal Cap'n Crunch, "Where's the Cap'n?" was assembled with footage from TV commercials from the Sixties and Seventies. The original segments were created and animated by Jay Ward (Rocky & Bullwinkle) and feature appearances by Crunch regulars Jean LaFoote, the Crunchberry Beast, Smedley the Elephant as well as cameos from other classic cereal icons. "I thought it would be a fun, almost odd act of musical rebellion to transcend some of my love for the breakfast cereal culture thematically and sonically into a punk-pop song," explains Cafiero. "Cereal mascots, commercial campaigns and the box-art itself were just as important, sometimes even more so, than the cereal itself," he finishes. The video and Extra Crunchy Product Mix were created in honor of the 25th anniversary of Quaker's "Where's the Cap'n?" challenge. In 1985, the Cap'n disappeared and fans of the cereal could collect clues from cereal boxes as to the Cap'n whereabouts. In 1999, kids could log on to the internet to solve the clues.
