Jellyfish's Jason Falkner Returns With New Album was a top story for this week. Here it is again: Jason Falkner is set to return with another infectious blast of his signature power-pop with his latest album, I'm Ok, You're Ok, to be released February 16 on Cobraside. The 11-track LP, which marks Falkner's first solo release of original material in more than five years, overflows with the requisite hooks, impeccable arrangements and sticky melodies that have made him a favorite of critics, music lovers and fellow musicians since his early beginnings in the Prince-approved neo-psychedelic band The Three O'Clock and San Francisco psych-poppers Jellyfish.
I'm OK, You're OK shows Falkner in exceptional form, far better than the album title suggests, and he readily proves this as the record kicks off with the palpable urgency of "This Time," a swirling dose of keys and fuzzy guitar coupled with a propulsive beat and Falkner's soaring vocals. In true Falkner form, his songs bounce from the Brian Eno-esque pop of "Stephanie Tells Me," to the solemn snythpop of "Hurricane" and the gorgeous, string-filled, acoustic album closer, "This Life Of Mine." - more on this story
