No More Delays, Randy Kohrs' New CD Is Now Out

After the release date was pushed back from October 2009 to early 2010, the day has finally arrived when the latest recording from world-renowned resonator guitarist and singer/songwriter, Randy Kohrs, is made available. Quicksand is his second on Rural Rhythm records and fifth solo CD overall and hits stores on Tuesday, January 12th.
The week of the drop date started out with the Randy Kohrs Band performing live on WSM with Bill Cody Monday morning. In addition to three songs performed live, including a Del Reeves remake of "This Must Be The Bottom" and the title track, "Quicksand," a Kohrs original, "Down Around Clarksdale," was spun from the CD.
Kohrs has stretched the genre boundaries on Quicksand more than he has in the past, categorizing it only as progressive acoustic, and so far, the reviews have been stellar. Popular indie station Radio Free Americana exclaims, "He seamlessly blends blues, country and bluegrass that's chock full of tasty licks from his resonator guitar."
In addition to his own projects, Randy Kohrs stays busy as one of Nashville's top session musicians, boasting over 500 credits to date, and also has risen in the ranks as an acclaimed producer, evidenced by his current third Grammyฎ nomination and potential second win for his work with Americana icon and hit songwriter, Jim Lauderdale.
