Van Halen's Earliest Recording Hits The Web? was a top story in May/June. Here is the recap: The Metal Den have unearthed what they report is the earliest known demo recording by legendary hard rock act Van Halen. This extremely rare cut entitled "Glitter" is rumored to be from 1973, but is most likely 1974 based on the time line of the group's development.

It is also rumored that Mark Stone played on the bass guitar at this time� but interviews place Michael Anthony in the band as early as 1972, so it is highly unlikely.

Another story claims that when Michael Anthony joined the band, Eddie & Alex Van Halen handed him a tape that included "Glitter", along with two other songs. - more on this story
