Here it is again: Slash was attacked on stage in Italy last night while he played a solo show, a video reveals. Rock Radio reports that fans reacted in fury as an unknown assailant appeared from behind the guitarist while he played Sweet Child O'Mine and pushed him to the floor, where he landed in a monitor amp. more

Matador Records have confirmed that original Pavement drummer Gary Young will be joining the band onstage for their hometown show on Thursday, June 24 at Stockton, CA's Bob Hope Theatre. here

As Tool gets ready to hit the road on a summer tour, frontman Maynard James Keenan says that the band is still making progress on their first record since 2006, while he also is plotting a new album from A Perfect Circle. FMQB reports that Keenan says that he understands that fans don't like the long wait between Tool records, but the band takes its time and doesn't rush into finishing projects.more

The Rock Band 3 game, due out later this year, will include keyboards, according to Classic Rock. The full track listing has yet to be finalized, but the list of bands already confirmed includes: Dio, Jane's Addiction, Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne, Queen, The Doors, Stone Temple Pilots, Them Crooked Vultures and more

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has been inducted into the Mojo Hall Of Fame at the magazine's award ceremony. BBC reports, Page, who last won a Mojo award for the 2007 Led Zeppelin reunion, revealed he was working on new material with a number of different projects. more

Metallica's Kirk Hammett tells Rolling Stone that he plans to work on a book during the band's downtime time called "Too Much Horror Business" (after a Misfits song), a collection of his favorite non-musical obsessions. "Horror movie posters, toys, artwork, comic books, the whole thing," he says. "It's something I've been into ever since I can remember.
