Singled Out: Leiana's Nothing=You

Nothing=You was written by Sean Danielson (Smile Empty Soul), Eddie Wohl(producer/co-writer) and me. We would have writing sessions at Eddie's house while Smile Empty Soul's record Consciousness was being mixed nearby. Sean came up with the guitar riff and most of the parts. He ended up playing both guitar and bass on that track. Eddie and I came up with the lyrics together. I started throwing out lines from old songs for some reason. I think that's how it started.

Eddie thought it was cool so I kept coming up with lines from various songs for each verse. There is a bunch in there, and its funny how certain people don't notice it and certain people will only notice some of them, but if you listen close you will find a whole range of musical influences in there! That is certainly one of my favorite tracks on the record. Ken Schalk has amazing energy on the drums on that track.
