Debbie Abono, affectionately known as the Thrash Metal Grandmother,who was heavily involved with the early days of the Bay Area thrash metal scene, has died at the age of 80, from cancer. She was an active supporter of the scene, managing the likes of Exodus, Possessed and Vio-lence . Due to Deanna's partial hysterectomy in 2006 the couple used IVF and had their embryos transferred to a gestational surrogate, the babies will join the couples' other children � Hannah and Griffin.
