Here are some of the breaking stories from Friday that we decided not to wait to tell you about: U2 frontman Bono has undergone emergency back surgery at a hospital in Munich, Germany. Jam! reports that Bono was taken to a medical facility on Friday after sustaining an injury during preparation for the band's world tour. A band spokesperson said, "Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home to recuperate. Once his condition has been assessed further, a statement will be made regarding the impact on forthcoming tour dates."" more

Stone Temple Pilots' self-titled comeback album doesn't come out until May 25, but you can stream the entire album exclusively over at Billboard.com here

Bret Michaels has been discharged from a hospital in Los Angeles after suffering a "warning stroke" earlier this week. In an email to the Associated Press on Friday, Bret Michael's publicist Joann Mignano reveals the star has left hospital and is now receiving outpatient care, although no further details were given. more
