Rockie Lynne's Songs for Soldiers album will be released to the public at large on June 1st. Lynne, a veteran of the United States Army, originally created his Songs for Soldiers CD as a gift for the troops he visited while touring overseas military bases in 2008-2009. Upon returning from his tour, the demand for the project became so great that Rockie decided to release the project commercially.

A full 1/3 of album proceeds will be donated to troop-related causes by the artist, significantly more than other projects being released

A media tour to promote the release of the album will include appearances on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" (5/31), Fox Business Network's "America's Daily Scoreboard" (5/31), Fox Entertainment affiliate feed (5/28), the nationally syndicated programs "Better TV" (5/28 performance and 5/31 interview), "Daytime" (5/31), ABC's "What's The Buzz" (6/1), Fox News Radio (6/1), "The Laura Ingraham Show" (6/2), and "The Daily Buzz" (6/3).

A new website was launched (www.rockielynne.com) along with his Summer tour schedule, including an appearance at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, at the nation's largest Vietnam Veterans homecoming (www.lzlambeau.org), his 3rd annual Walter Reed Concert for returning warriors and their families, and Chicago's "Rockin' For The Troops" on July 17th, where Lynne will share the stage with Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan Band at Cantingy Park.

Songs For Soldiers (available June 1, 2010) is not pro-war. It is not anti-war. The inspiring collection of original and traditional patriotic songs has no political position or agenda. The album contains eight original compositions and six familiar standards, including an instrumental track featuring 2010 Grammy Award winning artist and guitarist Steve Wariner. A music video for the song, "Heroes Come From Small Towns" has been released to music video outlets.

For every copy purchased from the website, Lynne will send another copy of the record to a service member deployed overseas. Consumers can write a note of 'thanks' on the website to accompany the CD.

According to Lynne, "The creation and release of this collection is intended to simply and proudly proclaim in a clear and undeniable voice that we as Americans support our soldiers and we stand behind the men and women of our Armed Forces. We recognize their sacrifice, duty, honor and commitment to our nation and we humbly say 'thank you.'"

In addition, Rockie co-founded the charitable organization, Tribute To The Troops, which is in its 6th year of operation and has donated over $200,000 to troop-related causes. The 7th Annual Tribute To The Troops motorcycle ride will take place on September 10, 11 and 12th this year in Minnesota.
