Psychostick Bring Their Humorcore To New Webcast Series

(Rock Ridge) Psychostick kicked off their "Mighty Stickcastening via Internet" webcast series last night.

Fans can log onto www.stickam.com/psychostickto experience the hilarity themselves, with the band promising some drunken debauchery, merch specials, goofy antics and big announcements.

Says Psychostick lead singer Rob Kersey: "The webcasts are such an effective way to reach out to the fans and talk to them personally. We can offer them a type of interaction unlike anything else, and they're just plain fun." The band plans to do hour-long webcasts every Thursday at 7 p.m. central.

Psychostick is also beginning work on a new album with the band in the writing phase right now. No title has been determined yet for the release, but the plan is to have the album completed and in the hands of fans in spring 2011. They've locked in the band lineup with the addition of Matt Rzemyk on bass, joining the aforementioned lead singer Kersey, drummer Alex Preiss, and guitarist Josh Key. "Once we had our new lineup finalized, we could finally start talking about a new album," says Kersey. "We're taking a simpler approach for the new record; this next batch of songs we're writing from the ground up with very little pressure to try to surpass our last few records. It'll be awesome."

The band plans to launch new merchandise and will be offering free shipping to fans within the next week. They also plan to release video blogs on their website ( www.psychostick.com) on a weekly basis in the near future. Psychostick released the three-track download "The Digital Sampler," on May 11, 2010, to tide fans over between their last album, "Sandwich" (which came out in 2009) and the new album coming next year. They've been extremely busy on the road in 2010 including tour outings with Nashville Pussy and Green Jelly (on the Parental Advisory Tour), with Look What I Did (on the Pay Off The Van Tour), and their own headlining dates. Best known for the song "Beer Is Good. And Stuff," Psychostick also spent much of 2009 on tour promoting "Sandwich."
