Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp Helping One of Their Own
. As the tour heads for San Francisco this weekend on its second stop, ROCK 'N' ROLL FANTASY CAMP has raised over $2,000 along the way to help former Grand Funk leader Mark Farner with medical expenses for the care of his 21-year-old son Jesse, who has been severely paralyzed since suffering a cervical spine injury from a fall in July. The money was raised at the tour's kickoff date in Philadelphia during the grand finale concert at the Trocadero. Between sets, Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp founder and CEO David Fishof auctioned off memorabilia from the stage on Jesse's behalf. The top bid of the evening was $600 by Mary Lee Josey of Tampa, FL, for a Gibson electric guitar autographed by Farner and the rest of the weekend's rock star counselors -- head counselor Dickey Betts (Allman Brothers), Mark Hudson (Aerosmith producer/songwriter), Kip Winger (Winger), Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Ozzy, Blue Oyster Cult), Sandy Gennaro (Joan Jett, Cyndi Lauper), Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, Wallflowers), Joey Molland (Badfinger), David Uosikkinen (The Hooters) and Ty Dennis (Doors of the 21st Century). Josey bought the guitar for her husband, William, as a keepsake memento of his dream weekend gift from her, and a way of helping and thanking Farner, William's counselor, for making those dreams come true.
