Lollapalooza To Feature Eminem, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, A Perfect Circle and more
. Lollapalooza 2011 will take place on August 5-7, 2011 at Chicago's Grant Park. Here is the official word with the additional lineup info: The 2011 bill is also loaded with acts from electronica to hip-hop, rock to avant-garde, and all the sounds in between, like Bright Eyes, Arctic Monkeys, Big Audio Dynamite, Deftones, Beirut, Explosions in the Sky, Death From Above 1979, Ratatat, Crystal Castles, Flogging Molly, Atmosphere, Cold War Kids and Lykke Li. Other must-see artists on the 130-band strong lineup include Local Natives, Two Door Cinema Club, Chicago's own Smith Westerns, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, The Vaccines, Foster the People, Portugal. The Man and Best Coast. For those who missed the inaugural Lollapalooza Chile, the cultural exchange will come full circle with Chilean acts including Chico Trujillo, Los Bunkers and Ana Tijoux. Perry's, the non-stop electronic and dance music stage, will up the ante once again this year with an even bigger footprint and a monster line-up topped by Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Kid Cudi, Skrillex, Bloody Beet Roots, Glitch Mob, and Afrojack. Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell will also be making a performance on his signature stage under the moniker of PerryEtty vs. Chris Cox. "Muscular beats," Farrell says, "That's the theme. Our new tent houses fifteen thousand people at once." About the 20th anniversary, Farrell is both nostalgic and enthusiastic. "As excited as I am to watch this year's legends perform at Lolla, I am also feeling the enthusiasm for the younger groups who are just now breaking. I take great delight in knowing that for the past 20 years we've given so many new artists a prestigious stage and a massive audience to play in front of."
