Legendary Punk Club Relaunch To Feature OMD

(Gibson) Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark will be the first band to play at the re-launched Eric's club in Liverpool. Eric's, located on Mathew Street, closed in 1980, but was a key club in Liverpool in the '70s, hosting gigs by the likes of the Buzzcocks, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Joy Division, The Sex Pistols and U2.

The club has been lovingly restored, according to theLiverpool Echo, and will once again support local bands. Musical Director Ethan Allen said: "It is quite fitting that OMD, who played their first-ever gig at Eric's more than 30 years ago, should come back to re-open the new Eric's.

"We are over the moon to welcome such an iconic band back to the venue and we are also looking forward to showcasing the next wave of new talent over the forthcoming months at club." more on this story
