New Public Image Ltd Music Funded By Butter Ad

(Gibson) John Lydon's Public Image Ltd. are recording their first new material in 20 years. Lydon, (a.k.a. Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten), told BBC 6: "We've got ourselves in a position where we can afford to [do] this, all of us love what we do, it's a fantastic environment PiL has created for itself."

Lydon recently signed up for some butter commercials, a financial deal that funded this music project. Lydon claimed: "It is important to realize that in all the years I have been in the music industry the only people that treated me with any real respect was a butter manufacturer."

The singer also is, he says, as musically content as he's been in years, saying, "It was difficult in the past because I wasn't really inspired by the people wrapped around me sometimes yes, sometimes no, but not to this level and this intensity." more on this story
