(Rock News Desk) Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone has accepted he'll need to deal with health issues related to his attempted murder for the rest of his life.

He was severely beaten and left for dead in June last year after he went to the aid of a woman who was being attacked by her husband. He spent the following months in hospital and required the temporary removal of part of his skull during a series of emergency operations.

After months more rehabilitation Leone has put much of the ordeal behind him but knows he'll carry mental and emotional scars for ever.

He tells Noisecreep: "One of the worst things is living with vertigo. It's a bizarre condition and it really kicked my butt at first. When I lay down in bed it felt like I just kept going further and further down, like some kind of nightmare. more on this story
