Scott Weiland Takes On Beatles, Stones and Bowie

(Gibson) Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland is covering some of rock's most famous bands and artists on his new album.

Appropriately titled A Compilation of Scott Weiland Cover Songs, the digital-only release features tunes originally by The Beatles, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, David Bowie and many others, according to NME.com.

On the release (available now on ScottWeiland.com), the former Velvet Revolver singer takes on two Bowie tunes ("Fame" and "The Jean Genie"), along with the Stones' "Dead Flowers," Radiohead's "Let Down," The Smiths' "Reel Around the Fountain" and the New York Dolls' "Personality Crisis." more on this story
