Gibson Repairs and Restores Cheap Trick Guitarist's Classic Les Paul

12/15/2011

(Gibson) Last summer, the members of Cheap Trick narrowly escaped a terrible stage collapse. As you might recall, the power pop legends were playing the Ottawa Bluesfest in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in July when the stage collapsed, leaving a few people injured although the band members came out OK.

Of course, a fair amount of Cheap Trick's gear took a beating, including some of guitarist Rick Nielsen's most prized instruments. Gibson Repair and Restoration has been working their magic on Nielsen's guitars, a few at a time.

The latest guitar to get the Repair and Restoration treatment is Rick's 1968 Les Paul Standard, which was converted to 1959 LP specs. Check out some images detailing the process
