(Gibson) Kings of Leon have postponed a series of dates so drummer Nathan Followill can recover from surgery for a torn right labrum and bicep. Doctors have advised Followill that he'll need to rest for at least three months after surgery to ensure that the injury doesn't recur.

The drummer said of the postponement, "Sorry to all the fans in Australia and South Africa. My bum wing needs more time to heal but we'll be back later this year. Sorry again."

The affected dates include seven shows in Australia and two in South Africa. The Australian tour will be moved to November 2011, with dates to be announced later this week. Ticketholders have been advised to hold onto their tickets until further notice. more on this story
