Battle Over John Lennon Guitar

. (Gibson) The State of Illinois is apparently not giving peace a chance. Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is going after the financially troubled Peace Museum in Chicago in an effort to get the museum to turn over its assets � including an acoustic guitar once owned by John Lennon.

Madigan's suit asks for the guitar and other items in the museum's collection be given to "bona fide charities actively educating the Illinois public in peaceful conflict resolution."

A spokesperson for Madigan told AOL News that they don't have a full inventory of the museum, but it is believed to contain assorted rock and roll memorabilia, including a manuscript from U2 frontman Bono, as well as items from The Clash, the Talking Heads and others. more on this story
