Alice in Chains Starr Drug Arrest

. (Rock News Desk) Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr has been jailed for drug possession after trying the "Do you know who I am?" defence on arresting officers.

Police in Salt Lake City, Utah, pulled over the van he was travelling in after it crossed a central reservation. One officer reported seeing Starr popping pills as he approached the vehicle. When questioned Starr said: "Hey, officer, have you heard of Alice in Chains? I used to be the bass guitarist. We're putting together a new band."

He was found to be in possession of twelve pills � six opioid analgesics and six anxiety controllers � without prescriptions. The name on the prescription label of a bottle had been scratched off. more on this story
