(BW&BK) On May 11th, Soundwave Revolution, the annual music festival held in major cities around Australia, announced Van Halen as the surprise headliner for all five of their huge festivals in September and October. Now, Van Halen officially acknowledged the shows by simply posting the dates on their official Facebook page. more

(BW&BK) According to Star-Exponent, one year ago Friday, the Virginia State Police released a composite sketch of a man forensically linked to the disappearance and death of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington. Authorities are still trying to ID the suspect, and ask for the public's continued help in doing so. Harrington, 20, of Roanoke, went missing the night of Oct. 17, 2009 after attending a Metallica concert at John Paul Jones Arena

On this day in 1963, The Beatles recorded their next single at EMI Studios, London, "She Loves You" and "I'll Get You',"completing the two songs in less than four hours. Released in August this year, "She Loves You" went on to become The Beatles' first million-selling single.

On this day in 1975, 10CC were at #1 on the U.K. singles chart with "I'm Not In Love'."The instrumental break featured the repeated spoken phrase: "Be quiet, big boys don't cry...", which was spoken by Kathy Warren, the receptionist at Strawberry Studios, Stockport, Cheshire where the band recorded the track.
