(SB) Former NBA star Rony Seikaly has announced the release of a brand new single "Take Me Higher."
Released digitally through Eric Morillo's venerable Subliminal Records imprint, the track will be available through iTunes, Beatport and Traxsource June 28th.
Sure to be a summer dancefloor staple, Seikaly expertly combines thumping rhythms, ascendant synths and soaring vocals on "Take Me Higher."
Seikaly who earned the nickname "The Spin Doctor" while playing with the Miami Heat has become known for his spinning off the court. Dubbing him "a human metronome," The New York Times describes Seikaly's considerable DJ skills; "Like a man adjusting the temperature of his bathwater [Seikaly blends] one song into the other, overlapping them for a minute or more, fine-tuning their beats into an electronic symphony."
Seikaly approaches his original productions with the same passion and precision. Known internationally for his production and turntable expertise, the artist brings a genuine fan's enthusiasm to his original releases. "When I make music, I want to create a happy vibe... to capture that moment where the dancefloor, the DJ and the music just connect," says Seikaly. "'Take Me Higher' combines the elements I look for to create that moment of synergy with the crowd."
