Jack White Won't Rock For Kinks Film

(Rock News Desk) Jack White has denied Ray Davies' claim the former White Stripes guitarist will provide the music for a movie based around a Kinks album.

Davies last week said US comedian and producer Bobcat Goldthwait was preparing to start work on a film version of the band's 1976 concept record Schoolboys In Disgrace. The frontman said: "Jack's a great technical player and would bring some great anarchy to it, which is in keeping with the script Bobcat's written."

But White has released a statement distancing himself from the project. It says: "Jack has great respect for the Kinks and for Bobcat, but has no plans to record any music for the film, as erroneously reported." more on this story
