Devin Townsend Doing It His Way

(RockAAA) Devin Townsend came off the stage at 2011's inaugural Sonisphere Festival in Warsaw, Poland, in a reflective mood. With the final pair of the 4 planned albums from his Devin Townsend Project due to drop in ten days Townsend is now looking towards his musical and professional future.

Describing himself as a perennial musical misfit he admits he is the "turd in the punch bowl" who refuses to conform to any particular scene or genre. Though he has no plans to ditch his metal-centred writing he does feel "the metal scene is starting to give up on me to a certain extent" after at the first leg of the European touring festival.

Adopting a self-deprecating tone he continued "I'll write pop music…I've always written pop stuff hidden in amongst my records like Life or Stagnant. I really like the ethereal vocals of a new wave and Enya vibe with my voice". is an official news provider for the Day in Rock.
