CMT Music Awards Performers Dominate The Top 5 Country Singles Chart

It apparently pays to be asked to perform at the CMT Music Awards, just ask the artists who appeared on the live telecast on Wednesday, June 8.

According to SoundScan, four of the top five Country Singles were performed on the CMT Music Awards with Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem" claiming the #1 spot.

Aldean brought down the house during his collaboration with Ludacris, and sales of the track following the show increased 99 percent, while the single reached the #4 spot on the overall Digital Songs chart.

Show performers Keith Urban and Jason Aldean posted huge percentage gains in both album and digital track sales, while Toby Keith's brand new single "Made In America," debuted at an impressive #24 on SoundScan's Country digital track chart. Host Kid Rock also went home a winner, generating the largest percentage increase in full album sales following the telecast.

"Artists like Jason Aldean embody the spirit of the CMT Awards. We encouraged him to take a bold song and make it bigger," said Brian Philips, president, CMT. "A watershed moment, driven by the power of CMT millions, can change the game. We're glad the show was able to provide helpful exposure for so many of our favorite stars."

The 2011 CMT MUSIC AWARDS sparked digital track sales increases among the following songs performed on the live show:

� Toby Keith ("Made in America") � #24 country single debut
� Keith Urban ("Long Hot Summer") � increased 806%
� Jason Aldean ("Dirt Road Anthem") � increased 99%
� Big & Rich ("Fake I.D.") � increased 79%
� Sugarland ("Stand Up") � increased 71%
� Jason Aldean ("My Kinda Party") � increased 69%
� Luke Bryan ("Country Girl (Shake It For Me)") � increased 41%
� The Band Perry ("You Lie") � increased 37%
� Zac Brown Band ("Knee Deep") � increased 18%
� Lady Antebellum ("Just A Kiss") � increased 12%

CMT MUSIC AWARDS performers also saw gains for physical and digital album sales, with increases among the following:

� Kid Rock ("Born Free") � increased 34%
� Keith Urban ("Get Closer") � increased 26%
� Jason Aldean ("My Kinda Party") � increased 23%
� Sugarland ("The Incredible Machine") � increased 20%
� The Band Perry ("The Band Perry") � increased 19%
� Zac Brown Band ("You Get What You Give") � increased 12%

Acts featured on the Nationwide Insurance side stage also experienced post-show digital track sales increases. The secondary stage featured up-and-coming artists Lee Brice ("Love Like Crazy" +58%), the JaneDear girls ("Shotgun Girl" +56%), Hunter Hayes ("Storm Warning" +54%), Colt Ford ("Country Thang" +36%) and Thompson Square ("Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not" +7%).

The 2011 CMT MUSIC AWARDS will re-air on the following days/times: Wednesday, June 15 at 8:00 p.m.; Friday, June 24 at 11:00 p.m.; and Sunday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. All times Eastern.
