The Day in Rock Digest for 03/07/11: Black Sabbath/Heaven & Hell drummer Vinny Appice has teamed up with Pantera/Down bassist Rex Brown in a new band, according to Classic Rock. They are called Kill Devil Hill, with Stephen Pearcy Band and 40 Cycle Hum' Matt Zavon on guitar and Dewey Bragg on vocals. more

Former Genesis drummer and solo star Phil Collins has indicated that he is calling it quits from music. The 60-year-old has hearing problems and nerve damage in his hands, and says in an interview, "I don't think anyone's going to miss me� I look at the MTV Music Awards and I think, 'I can't be in the same business as this.'" more
