Duff Explains Jane's Addiction Exit

Duff McKagan joined Jane's Addiction because bassist Eric Avery's departure had all but crushed the band. But says it quickly became apparent that he couldn't stay.

The ex Guns n'Roses and Velvet Revolver man parachuted in last year after Avery had spent weeks hinting he was planning to leave. He says the remaining members were in dire need of assistance when Avery finally left.

But less than six months after joining he left again and the band weren't able to explain why. Now McKagan tells Vanity Fair: "We wrote some really great songs. But when I started recording with my own band, Loaded, in August, I really discovered I could only do one thing or the other." more on this story
